GoDaddy sells Web Hosting (cPanel) and Managed Hosting for WordPress, and each sets PHP in a different place. Both are changed from your GoDaddy product page, not inside WordPress. For PHP2Shell, see which version your site runs in GoDaddy account Dashboard (steps below), then ask GoDaddy to confirm the fixed release (8.2.35, 8.3.36, 8.4.27, 8.5.12) or a patched package is applied.

Who updates PHP on GoDaddy?
On GoDaddy, you choose the PHP version and GoDaddy provides the builds. Ask GoDaddy whether the latest PHP security release is applied to the version you run.
Good to know
- On Web Hosting (cPanel), GoDaddy says you can roll back by repeating the steps and picking your previous version.
- On Web Hosting (cPanel) and Web Hosting Plus, GoDaddy adds a paid PHP Extended Support add-on at renewal for plans on a PHP version PHP.net no longer supports. Moving to a supported version avoids it.
- For Managed Hosting for WordPress, GoDaddy warns that upgrading PHP can cause issues and suggests testing on a staging site first.
- GoDaddy also documents checking your version with a phpinfo file. If you use one, delete it when you're done, because it shows your server's PHP setup to anyone who finds it.
- Windows Hosting (Plesk) has its own GoDaddy article, which this guide does not cover. GoDaddy's Update PHP to the latest version page links the right article for each hosting type.
- GoDaddy's Hosting Services team can also handle PHP upgrades for you.
